I am so excited about starting this blog of prayers. I have been writing prayers since 1985 when God placed it in my heart to pray for others as intercessor. Praying for others is such joy and I have found so much inspiration in the prayers written in the 17th, 18th, and 19th century’s by some very faithful, strong, mature Christian men and women.
I have taken the prayers posted from prayer books I have found on archive.org. The books are out of copyright and all of the sources are listed giving credit to the original authors and publishers. I have taken the liberty of revising the prayers into a more modern form by changing the Thee’s and the Thou’s in addition to revising some of the phrases.
Gracious Heavenly Father;
I ask you to take this blog and use it to Your glory. May the prayers posted on these pages inspire the readers to draw near to You in their prayer closets and come to know the joy of spending time alone with You. Lord I ask You to pour out Your blessings on all the readers and should any not know You as their Lord and Savior, bring them into the saving grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
May the joy of the Lord be with you throughout the day!
