Almighty and most merciful Father, whose hands have made and fashioned us, in whom we live and move and have our being, we come before You this morning in the Name of Your Son our Savior Jesus Christ, whom, in Your love to US, You have appointed to be our Mediator.
We give You humble and hearty thanks for the safety and rest of the night past, and we now ask You to protect us during this day. Be with us in our going out and coming in. Watch over us for good. Give us all things needful for our souls and bodies; and enable us by Your Holy Spirit to live this day as Your true servants. Whatever we do, may we remember that Your eye is upon us. Keep us by the power of Your grace not only from outward transgressions, but also from inward and secret sins. May our words and meditations be acceptable in Your sight. In all our enjoyments and employments may we seek to glorify You, and to do good to those around us. Let Your blessing, rest upon this household; [especially upon the little ones. Give them health and strength, if it be Your good will. Enable us in all things to set them the example of a sober, righteous, and godly life, and as they grow in age, may they grow in favor both with You and with men.]
If You are pleased to visit us with affliction, 0 may it turn out for our eternal good. May we learn to lean on You in the hour of need, and find You a God of mercy and of love. You know our several trials and wants. We bring them to You, and ask You to sanctify them to us, and to give us rest and refreshment when You see fit. Above all give us faith in our Redeemer; forgive us our sins for His sake. Give us Your Holy Spirit, that we may amend our lives and be in charity with all men, that so, when our sojourn here is ended, we may dwell with You forever, and behold the glory which You have prepared for those that love You.
We offer our unworthy thanks, and we, present our petitions, through the mediation of Your Son, to whom, with You and the Holy Ghost, be all honor and glory, now and forever. Amen.
