Ps. 116 ; 13, 14.—”I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. I will pay my vows unto the Lord, now in the presence of all his people.”

O Lord, my Savior, grant me grace, in this hour of preparation, for the sincere step, by which I devote myself to you, and to your service, for life and for death, that I may be able to truly surrender myself, and to lean in faith upon you, and your perfect work.

O God, be my strength in my weakness, and instruct me by your Holy Spirit. Be from this time forward, my Prophet, to teach me, my Priest and Sacrifice, to atone for me, and my King, to rule over me.

Help me to become more and more united to you, that I may truly confess your name, and present myself a living sacrifice of thankfulness to you; and that with a free and good conscience I may fight against sin and satan in this life, and afterwards reign with you eternally in the life above.

Keep me, O Lord, ever in union and fellowship with your Church, that I may enjoy the privilege of the wealth of grace: so that living in your fear, and dying in your favor, I may at last be gathered, with all the ransomed, into the Church triumphant in heaven.

Dear Savior, help me this day, to renounce with all my heart, all evil, the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eye, and the pride of life. I humbly ask you, to surround me with your loving arms of grace, that I may never stray from your fold but remain faithful unto the end.

O most merciful God and Father, who is faithful in all your promises, from the depths of my heart I praise you.  You have enabled me to see and understand my sin and misery.  You have revealed to my heart the blessed Redeemer, the Chief among ten thousand, and the one altogether lovely, who alone is able to rescue from sin and death.  You have given me a comforting hope and understanding that through true faith, I have become your child, and an heir of your promises.

O God, help me to lay aside all sin, all desire for the vanities of this world; to consecrate myself wholly, body, soul and spirit, to your service. Be near me, dearest Savior. Be to me the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. Uphold me by your free grace. Send to me the fullness of your Holy Spirit, that I may be, and remain, yours for time and eternity. Amen.
