Accept my thanks, O God, giver of all good, for having preserved me through another night and brought me to the light of another day.
Continue Your guardian care of me, O gracious God, till the night of death is past, when I ask You to raise me up to everlasting life.
I gratefully acknowledge my dependence upon You for all the necessaries, conveniences and comforts of my life, and for everlasting happiness hereafter.
I give You thanks for the light of Your gospel and the help of Your grace, and for the promise You have made of pardon and forgiveness through Your son Jesus Christ, on my sincere repentance and amendment.
Give me, I ask You, such a sense of these and all Your other mercies to me, as may make me truly thankful to You for them.
Give me grace ever to walk as in Your sight, making a conscience of all my ways, and fearing to offend You, so that I may never fall into those sins of which I have already repented.
Enable me to resist and overcome the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil; to follow the motions of Your good spirit, to be serious and holy in my life, true and just in my dealings, watchful over my thoughts, words and actions, diligent in my business, and temperate in all things.
Give me grace to honestly improve all the talents committed to my trust; and may no worldly business, no worldly pleasures, divert me from the concerns of the life to come.
May Your blessing be upon my person, upon my labors, and upon all that belongs to me; and may I never undertake any work which I dare not beg of You to prosper.
May Your grace defend me in all assaults of my enemies; and grant that this day I fall into no sin, neither into any kind of danger; but that all my doings be ordered by Your governance, that I may always do that which is righteous in Your sight.
Give me, gracious God, what is needful for me, and grace not to abuse Your favors. Give me, I ask You, a contented mind, and make me ever mindful of the wants of others. Give me in this world, the knowledge of Your truth, and in the world to come, life everlasting.
Hear me, O merciful God, not according to my imperfect petitions, but according to the full meaning of that form of prayer which my Saviour has taught.
My Father which are in heaven, hallowed be Your Name: Your kingdom come: Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven: Give me this day our daily bread: And forgive me my debts as I forgive my debtors: And lead me not into temptation; but deliver me from evil. For Your is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
