Almighty and most merciful God, the Creator and Preserver of all mankind, who has brought me safely to the beginning of this day, give me grace, I earnestly request You, that I may now offer, with one accord, my common supplications to You; and in compassion to my ignorance teach me how to pray.
I acknowledge my transgressions, gracious Lord, and my sin is ever before me; make the remembrance of it more grievous to me than it is: and have mercy upon me, most merciful Father, for Your Son my Lord Jesus Christ’s sake.
Make ours to be a household of love with deep reverence and the right fear of You.
Endue me with the grace of Your Holy Spirit; that I may make changes in my life according to Your Holy Word, and do everything that is pleasing in Your sight.
As my blessed Savior, who died for my sins, did, as on this day, rise again from the dead, so may I be raised by Your power to newness of life, and daily advance in all virtue and godliness.
You have been pleased, O Lord, for Your own glory, and for the benefit of Your creatures, to set apart one day out of seven, to be kept holy to Yourself. Give me grace, that I may sanctify Your appointment to the honor of Your holy name, and the good of my own souls.
