Almighty God, whose mercy is everlasting, and whose truth endures from generation to generation, favorably with mercy hear my prayers.

You are willing to be entreated by those who approach You with a lowly and contrite spirit, and will fulfill the desires of them that seek You.

I bless You, O Lord, for commending Your love to me, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for me: and I pray You make me to know, and to feel, that there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby I may be saved, but only the name of my Lord Jesus Christ.

Dispose me, day by day, to flee to him, as my only refuge from the storm of Your anger. May he be always to me as a hiding- place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

And as, of Your great mercy You did save Noah and his family in the ark from perishing by water, and did safely lead the children of Israel, Your people, through the Red Sea, so, I ask You, for Your infinite mercies, to look upon me; that I, being delivered from Your wrath, and received into the ark of Christ’s Church, and being steadfast in faith, joyful through hope, and rooted in charity, may so pass the waves of this troublesome world, that, finally, I may come to the land of everlasting life, there to -reign with You world without end.

Grant to me, O Lord, all needful strength for the duties of this day. Out of the fullness which is in Christ Jesus supply every want both of body and of soul. With Your mighty hand and stretched-out arm save and protect me from all evil.

Show me Your ways, and teach me Your paths; and may they be to me ways of pleasantness, and paths of peace. Remove the carnal mind, which is enmity against You; and give me the mind which was in Christ Jesus.

Strengthen me, by Your Holy Spirit, to mortify the deeds of the body, and to preserve my mind and conscience undefiled.

Suffer me not to be conformed to this world; but transform me by the renewing of my minds, that I may know what is Your good, and acceptable, and perfect will.

Preserve me from putting a stumbling block, or an occasion of falling, in my brother’s way. And grant that every one of me may strive to please his neighbour, for his good to edification, even as Christ pleased not himself; and may learn not to seek my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

Above all, give me sincerity of heart before

You. Keep me from the hypocrisy of those, who desire to appear righteous before men, but whose inward parts are full of wickedness.

O You, who knows my weakness, and are able to make all grace abound towards me, grant that I, having all sufficiency in all things, may abound in every good work; and, building up myself in my most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, and watching thereunto with all perseverance, may be kept continually in Your love, daily looking for the mercy of my Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

But You have taught me, O Lord, to pray for others, as well as for myself. Be pleased, therefore, to hear my intercessions for them.

Let Your eye be upon such as fear You, and hope in Your mercy: and to those who order their conversation aright do You show’ Your salvation, O God.

Look on them who are in heaviness through manifold temptations. What time they are afraid, let them put their trust in You. And may it please You, O Lord, who has Yourself suffered, being tempted, to succor them also that are tempted.

Have mercy, likewise, O heavenly Father, upon those who have trodden under foot Your beloved Son, and have counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sane-tilled an unholy thing, and are doing despite to the Spirit of grace.

Have compassion also on those who have fallen away from their steadfastness, and are sinning willfully after they have received the knowledge of the truth; and are in danger of being given over to a reprobate mind. Renew them again to repentance; for with You all things are possible. And grant that they may not again crucify Your dear Son, and put him to open shame; but, remembering from whence they are fallen, may be zealous, and repent, and do their first works; and, hereafter, have a perpetual fear and love of Your holy name, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
