My Lord, Almighty God and Heavenly Father, I thank You from the inner most part of my heart for all Your mercy and kindness. Like a Father, You have shown me how much You love me this day and have kept me safe from all ills.
I ask You Father, as Your dear child to graciously preserve me to my last breath in Your saving word, and to enlighten my heart with Your Holy Spirit, that I may know what is good or evil.
I ask You in mercy to forget all the sins that I have knowingly committed this day along with my secret faults and to grant me a Christian’s rest for the night, that I may rise hale and hearty to Your praise.
Also help me, dear Father, by Your grace, to begin a new life well-pleasing to You, to my soul’s salvation; through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, my only helper. Amen.
