ALMIGHTY GOD and benevolent Father, I return thanks to You for having again this day graciously kept me in body and soul from all harm and ill. Forgive whatever sin I have committed this day, with heart, tongue or otherwise, against You and Your holy commandments, I ask You, according to Your loving-kindness, and forsake me not. For You have bought me with a price so dear to You, even the precious blood of Your dear Son, Jesus Christ. Protect me this night, under the almighty wings of Your grace, against the evil adversary, who goes about, as a roaring lion, seeking to devour me, that I may rest and sleep securely under the shadow of Your grace and goodness, and the evil adversary may not draw near me and harm me.
