Almighty God, who has redeemed us to Yourself with the precious blood of Your dear Son; grant that we may live no longer to ourselves, but to Him who died for us and rose again. Direct us always by Your grace, O merciful God, and lead us continually by Your Spirit.

Give us good and holy thoughts, pure, gentle, and peaceable dispositions, an entire submission to Your will, a perfect love for You, O God, and a sincere charity towards all mankind.

Wean our hearts from sin and the vanity of this world, and give us grace to have them always lifted up to heaven where our treasure is; so that watching and praying without ceasing, and living in temperance, righteousness, and piety, we may pass our days in peace, waiting for the glorious return of our Savior; and that when He shall come to judge the world, we may appear before You without confusion, and without fear.
